Versilia and Cinque Terre

One of the most well-known italian seaside: it runs for 165 km on the Thyrrenian coast. The Versilia’s beauty is that it can provide amazing seaside and mountain’s landscape at the same time: pure sea and high peak create a matchless location. Famous for the wide beaches and the nightlife, it has also become a nice location for families and old people too. Furthermore Forte dei Marmi is the perfect city for exclusive shopping.

The “Cinque Terre”: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola e Riomaggiore with their stone shores where you can find tipical fisherman’s villages, can be easely reached by car, train, autobus and boat.
We suggest you activities that you can’t lose in Versilia:

walk through piers: modenity and design’s evidence, the 3 piers are a must for the sightseen walks’ lovers. You can find them in Lido di Camaiore, Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi.

Viareggio: fascinating town, renowed in the whole world for his Carnival Party. But this isn’t the only attraction in Viareggio: there are a lot of interesting buildings as Torre del Lago, originates by an old watchtower on Massaciuccoli’s lake and where today are located the Puccini’s villa and museum. Another Viareggio’s gem: is the perfecto location for those who love nature. You can find here a lot of pinewood as “Pineta di Ponente”, “Pineta di Levante” and “Piante Monumentali”, in addiction to other important green areas.

Pietrasanta: mixes seaside (Marina di Pietrasanta) and a wonderful old town center placed in the hinterland . Marina is one of the most renowed seaside of the region and is formed of several locations, like Focette, Motrone, Tonfano and Fiumetto. Beautiful beaches, tennis court, luxury hotel, villas and night clubs are the main characters of this location.

Forte dei Marmi: the most “Vip” destination in Versilia. There are many attractions, the first is the “Fortino” that gives the name to the town: the grand duke’s fortress built in the eighteenth century in wich it’s placed the satire & caricature’s museum. Don’t miss the clubs, as the “Capannina di Franceschi” disco, a “cult” club since 1929.

Camaiore: the main attraction are the castles’ ruins that go from here to the Alpi Apuane. Is the only Versilia’s district that spreads from the see to the hill, with its small area as Gombitelli.

Alta Versilia: don’t miss the two districts that form the Alta Versilia: Seravazza and Stazzema, perfect place for the enviroment, culture, history, tradion and art’s lovers. Here you can interchange hikes, romantic walks, churches (as Santa Maria Assunta in Stazzema and San Lorenzo e Barbara’s cathedral in Seravezza). Then the Palazzo Mediceo in Seravezza where you can visit the Popular Art and Tradiction’s Museum and the Resistence’s Historical Museum in Stazzema.

Museum’s System: strongly suggested the many museums that fill the towns. The most important are: Musei Civici di Villa Paolina , Museo della Marineria, Museo della Cittadella del Carnevale , Galleria Comunale di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Viareggio (GAMC) with its collection of three thousand works made by 750 artists lived during the twentyth century, Museo Archeologico Bruno Antonucci; Museo dei Bozzetti that preserves works of this area’s artists and the Carducci’s home-museum in Valdicastello, the beautiful Archeological Museum in Camaiore and the Holy art’s one, Museo della satira e della caricatura, the Versilian sculptor Ugo Guidi’s Home-Atelier Museum.
